We are an alliance of ordinary people giving our time, skills, and resources to provide meals and other sustaining material and services to people living in homeless encampments.
I am doing most of the cooking, but other folks from my neighborhood in North Seattle are pitching in to collect needed material. See this post about Givers and Sharers. Also, I am cooperating closely with other groups, such as Greater Seattle Cares, and Patacara Community Services.
I’m learning how to cook, deliver, and coordinate with people in the camps. When I have a solid clue, then I’ll be able to reach out and recruit people to join me in cooking. That said, if you have an immediate urge to cook for homeless people, or to help in other ways, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
About our name:
“Rumble, rumble, rumble, CRASH!” is the sound an earthquake makes. I worked on neighborhood emergency preparedness for quite a while, so earthquakes are on my mind. Also, we are in the midst of a political and spiritual earthquake all the world around! This project is my response to our impressively unprecedented circumstances.
My logo is a derivation of the Hindu icon Nataraja, which depicts the god Shiva dancing the creation and destruction of the world.
